All About Masterclasses and Recitals

Masterclasses

Masterclass is a rehearsal class for students preparing for a recital.  Students will learn about proper performance etiquette such as bowing, pacing and what to do if they have a memeory slip.  It is a chance for them to play their songs in a low-stress environment to see if they are really ready (or not!).  They then have another week of practicing and another lesson to get everything just right.

We ask that you drop your child off and come back for them later.  With just the kids it will be a less stressful environment - a little more like a class instead of an actual recital.  If your child really needs you to stay, that is just fine, but most students can stay on their own.  Also, if this is your child's first recital, you are welcome to stay and see for yourself what goes on.  Class will be about 45 to 50 minutes.

Recitals

We hold 2 recitals per school year, one in December and another in June.  There is no admission fee.  Family and friends are most welcome at recitals.  Be sure you have your cameras charged to capture the moment!  Students are asked to "dress up" to help make this a special event.  Younger siblings are also welcome.  If needed, feel free to bring some books and quiet toys to help keep them occupied.
